YOU Matter!

www.youmatter.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/home/get-help/help-for-you/

-- No matter if it doesn’t always feel like it. You matter. And in moments when you feel like you just need some support, there is help out there. You Matter is a movement to spread the word that your problems, your worries, your fears, and above all you—unique and real you—matter.

And because just about everyone—at some point—hits the wall, we’re here to help you get over that wall.

OMH has created a suicide prevention center and as part of that initiative the center has a web site. One item accessible through the website is a online chat line for suicide prevention. You may want to let providers and consumers know about the web site and the chat service as you travel around. Note, not all crisis centers in every locale have orchestrated involvement with the chat service but continued expansion of the chat service's availability is anticipated during 2011.  See the link below:
http://www.crisischat.org/

The link for the center itself is below:

The webcast referenced on the website, Talking With Children After A Suicide Loss, was a product our CNY FO created for the state with some of the monies from the Suicide Prevention Initiative regional dollar allocation. It is also to be listed on the SAMHSA Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) national webpage. Lower on the page are the Time Warner Programs which were a part of last year's effort.
