New York’s “Go-To” Resource for Behavioral Health

LifeNet’s newly enhanced website now offers comprehensive behavioral health and social support resources and a convenient, easy-to-navigate experience.

How can LifeNet’s Network of Care website help you or your organization?

  • Find the behavioral health services you need using our searchable Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Problem Gambling Database

  • Post and find professional or community workshops, trainings and support groups on a comprehensive Community Calendar.Post an event on the Community Calendar by clicking on the Community Calendar tab on the upper right side of the website home page.  Then click on “Suggest an Event” and fill in the form.
  • Learn more about mental health, addiction, parenting, relationship issues, physical health and other topics using our Library’s vast resources of over 30,000 articles, publications and tools
  • Store important personal information and favorite services in the confidential Personal Health Record.
  • Get an advocate by reviewing an extensive list of organizations that assist people with mental health or substance abuse problems.
  • Learn about low-cost or private insurance, medication assistance programs, resources for the uninsured, and help for veterans.
  • Take action by following local, state and national bills focused on behavioral health, and by contacting elected officials to voice your opinions on how to improve the behavioral health care system.
  • Connect with others using the multi-featured Social Network of Care and Message Boards

About LifeNet’s Information, Referral, and Crisis Hotlines:  LifeNet is New York City’s primary 24/7, toll-free, confidential referral and crisis hotline network.  Anyone can call at any time for themselves or someone they care about, and speak to a trained mental health professional, who will direct them towards the help they need.  LifeNet is a member of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network of over 147 crisis centers.  LifeNet’s information, referral, and crisis hotline network is supported by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and  the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
